Zuala sworn-in as parliamentary secy

Mizoram chief minister Lal Thanhawla today administered oath office to the ruling Congress legislator Lt.Col Z S Zuala as parliamentary secretary.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the conference hall of the CMO and presided over by the state chief secretary L. Tochhawng, was attended by ministers, parliamentary secretaries, legislators, Congress party leaders and top officials.

Mizoram has six parliamentary secretaries and Zuala was sworn-in after the demise of Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Law Chawngtinthanga.

Born in 1943, the retired Lt. Colonel of the Army, he Zuala is a first time legislator, elected from the Aizawl South - II assembly seat in the state assembly elections held on December two, 2008.

The chief minister also sworn-in Haukhuma Hauzel, former state chief secretary, as member-secretary of the state planning board.
