Reang refugees write to PM

Agartala, Oct 22 : The Reang refugees have sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding assurance of immediate repatriation with full security, at least one house for each family, free ration for one year and cash compensation of Rs 50,000 for each family.

The refugees, along with Reang tribes of both Tripura and Mizoram, were demonstrating in Kanchanpur against the Mizoram government for its alleged non-cooperation in taking back the refugees since the past 13 years.

They submitted the memorandum to the local administration to be forwarded to the Prime Minister.
