Led by Governor Lt Gen (rtd) M M Lakhera, Mizorams top officials laid floral wreaths at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the morning at Zodin Square here, in the heart of the city.
On the occasion, the Governor recollected Gandhis contributions dedication and self-sacrifice for Indias freedom from the colonial yoke, his sustained campaign against social injustices and unending pursuit for the establishment of a truly secular and harmonious society.
Besides the Governor, Assembly Speaker R Romawia, Home Minister R Lalzirliana, Education Minsiter Lalsawta, Health Minister Lalrinliana Sailo, Deputy Speaker John Rotluangliana, Parliamentary Secretaries Lalrinmawia Ralte and H Zothangliana, Deputy Chief Whip R L Pianmawia paid homage to the great leader.
