Mizoram Governor Lakhera turns 73

Aizawl, Oct 22 : The Raj Bhavan in Aizawl was today flooded with gifts and good wishes as the occupant Mizoram Governor Lt Gen (Rtd) Madan Mohan Lakheracelebrated his 73rd birthday.

Chief minister Lal Thanhawla conveyed his wishes through telephone and also sent a present. State ministers, senior officers and military personnel were among those who felicitated the Governor on his birth anniversary.

M M Lakhera was born on October 21, 1937, at Jakhand, Patti Barjula, Tehri Garhawal. He was educated in Rastriya Indian Military College, Dehra Dun. He was commissioned in the Army from Indian Military Academy, Dehra Dun on June 8, 1958.

He became the Governor of Mizoram on July 2006. Previously, he was the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Pondicherry from 2004 to 2006.
