Mizoram: 47 kilos marijuana seized, three arrested

A joint operation by Mizoram’s anti-narcotics agency and a paramilitary force has caught 47 kilograms of marijuana worth Rs 2 lakhs and arrested three traffickers, an official statement said Wednesday.

The statement said the seizure was made by officers of the Excise and Narcotics Department and troops from the 39th battalion of the Assam Rifles at Sesawng town on Tuesday evening.

It added the three accused, of whom two are women, brought the consignment from Manipur. They have been booked under the NDPS Act.
