An official statement said that Ahmed, who met Lal Thanhawla in the Mizoram House in Guwahati, also appealed to the chief minister to make arrangements for providing raw materials for running the Cachar Paper Mill in Panchgram.
He expressed wish that Mizoram should have better relationship with his native Karmganj district, it said.
Lal Thanhawla urged Ahmed to solve the problems triggered by Cachar district forest department officials who used to forcibly confiscate teak timber meant for export outside the state which prompted the timber traders to export teak via Tripura.
Ahmed promised to take up the matter with the Cachar Divisional Forest Officer, the statement added.
