Kohima CMO directs PFA licence renewal

Kohima : The Chief Medical Officer, Kohima has issued a notice  that no person is to manufacture, sell, stock, distribute or exhibit for sale  any article of food, including prepared food or ready to serve food, except under a licence.

The notification is under the provision Rule 50 of the Prevention of Food Adulteration (PFA) Rules, 1955 (Central) and Rule 6 of the Nagaland Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1985. “No person shall manufacture, sell, stock, distribute or exhibit for sale of any article of food, including prepared food or ready to serve food except under a licence” the CMO stated.


“Non- compliance to it would be liable to be penalized under the provision of the Nagaland Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1985,” said Dr. L. Ralte, CMO, Kohima. In this connection, dealers of food items in Kohima town have been directed to obtain new or renew  PFA Licence and medical fitness card for year 2009-10 from the various locations and dates:

January 28 to February 13: AG, Lerie, New Minister’s Hill, Mohonkhola, IOC, BOC, PR Hill, Potterlane and Chandmari- 11:30 to 2:00 PM.

February 16 to 27: Old Minister’s Hill, Jail, Agri, Forest, Paramedical, Hospital, New Market, TCP Gate and Midland: 11:30 – 2:00 PM.
March 2 to 13: Phoolbari, NST, Main Town, D. Block, Mission Road & Kitsubozou- 11:30 to 2:00 PM.
March 16 to 25: Kezieke,  Daklane, Naga Bazaar, Veterinary, Sepfuzou, Kenouzou, Bayavu and High School: 11:30- 2:00 PM.
