Livelihood project to help poor in Mizoram : Ghatowar

Aizawl, Jan 11 : Union Minister of state for DoNER, Paban Singh Ghatowar today said the proposed 'livelihood project' formulated by the ministry for creating permanent livelihood for the poor in Mizoram would be beneficial for the state. Ghatowar, who is on a maiden visit to the north eastern state, told at a meeting with Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla, his cabinet colleagues and senior officials that the project would cover all it eight districts and help poor families have their own means of livelihood in their respective villages. Thanhawla urged Ghatowar to constitute a project sanctioning committee in which all the constituent states would have their respective representatives to facilitate pursuance of detailed project reports submitted by the state governments. He also made special mention to projects submitted to the DoNER ministry like establishment of Sainik School and referral hospital with medical college, sanctioning of project cost for 60-MW Tuirial Hydel Project and construction of a state-of-the-art convention centre here.
