Malaria deaths on decline in Mizoram

AIZAWL, June 25 – Deaths due to malaria have sharply declined to seven during January to May in Mizoram this year against 47 during the same period last year, State Health Department officials said today.

The officials said that those who died were mainly from malaria-prone areas in south and western parts of the State.

Malaria has remained the main killer disease in the State till last year when it was surpassed by pneumonia deaths.
